In 2022, a Statista survey revealed that only 9 percent of U.S. citizens have traveled to over 20 states, and a mere four percent have explored more than 35. Mrs. Blackwell is one of that elite four percent. This summer, she added two new states to her impressive list, revisiting Georgia along the way.
Her journey was a whirlwind of adventure, covering countless miles and taking her from the historic Coyote Ugly Saloon in Oklahoma to the dazzling pink marble Tate House in Georgia. Blackwell’s summer was nothing short of extraordinary, brimming with unforgettable experiences.
This summer, Blackwell started on her 17-hour journey to Georgia with a quick overnight stop in Missouri to eat at Lambert’s Cafe: Home of Throwed Rolls, which is her favorite spot. One of her favorite meals there is fried frog legs with a side of fried okra. After this stop, she continued her trip to Northern Georgia, specifically to the city of Jasper, where her in-laws live. While in Georgia, she attended a 3-day business conference in Atlanta. At the conference, she learned about some new products that might be hitting the market soon, but the main focus was to recognize those who were doing outstanding work in the company.
After her conference, she and her husband set off on a new adventure to explore the diverse landscapes of Oklahoma. Their journey began with an overnight stay in Oklahoma City, where Mrs. Blackwell uncovered what she described as “some of the best Thai food I have ever had.” They dined at a charming spot known as Thai Street Food, where she and her group indulged in a flavorful array of dishes, including Pad Thai, Kee Mao, sticky rice, crispy pork, and green curry.
They spent several delightful days visiting their nieces, enjoying activities such as exploring the Oklahoma Land Run Monument and enjoying a scenic canal boat ride. Their adventure then led them to Seiling, Oklahoma, where they said farewell to a friend who had accompanied them on their journey. As they made their way back to Georgia, they took a memorable detour to the northern tip of Texas to collect a rattlesnake rattle for her father-in-law. To top off their trip, they also stopped at the world-famous Coyote Ugly Saloon, adding a bit of lively excitement to their journey.
Having traveled over 3,000 miles this summer and exploring numerous monuments, cities, and states, one might assume Blackwell would take a break from her adventures. However, she’s not ready to slow down. Blackwell is already planning her next summer’s travels, with a particular focus on visiting even more states. Alaska, in particular, is very high on her list, and she’s eager to make it a highlight of her upcoming journey.
