As the festivities continue for Homecoming Week, the Friday night lights get ever so closer for the Amherst Falcons as they prepare to host the Warhawks of Weyauwega-Fremont to continue conference play. The Warhawks, coached by Colton Zimmermann, are an even 3-3 on the season, with a conference record of 2-2, which is good for a 4th place tie with Colby.
Kameron Zielke is back at the helm for Weyauwega-Fremont after sustaining a knee injury that kept him out of last year’s game. At quarterback, he went 6/13 for 62 yards and a touchdown in their 36-6 win over Marathon. His main running back, Dawson Lind, ran for 117 yards and two touchdowns last week as well. When it comes to receiving the ball, Broc Billington is the main person to watch after he got 27 yards on two receptions.
Junior Sully Perkins continues to have a monster season for the Falcons. In Amherst’s win over Spencer/Columbus, Perkins caught the ball three times for 49 yards and ran the ball for an additional 65 yards and a touchdown on two attempts. Senior Sam Stuczynski also crossed the century mark in rushing yards last week, running for 107 on 20 attempts. When it comes to passing, Junior Quarterback Michael Glodowski went 8-for-11 for 100 yards and a touchdown.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Heartland Farms Field, so make sure to grab your spirit wear and head on over to cheer on the Falcons!
