Spring Break — the time when students get to relax and don’t have to worry about waking up early to go to school or do homework. It’s a time for students to hang out with family and friends or go on vacation. Although their senior year is just around the corner, with many challenges ahead, Amherst juniors are putting the ACT test behind them with their thoughts squarely on the upcoming spring break.
Junior Faith Sopa won’t be able to go on her ultimate spring break to Hawaii, but she still has big plans nonetheless. “I am going on a trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama, to camp with my mom and step dad and to go shopping and to the beach,” Faith said. “I am looking forward to going to the Hank Williams Sr. museum because he’s my favorite country singer.”
Tiris Byrd’s plans are more low key.
“I am going to sleep in and play video games,” Tiris said. He is looking forward to not having to stress about his sleep schedule, and his ultimate spring break would be going out and doing things with his friends.
Emma Henke is going to get some things done on her break, including going through her room. “I’m looking forward to not having school,” Emma admitted. Her ultimate spring break would be going on vacation to somewhere warm.
Caly Lepak is going to South Padre Island with her dad, then going to her mom’s, with a trip to South Carolina in April. She added that she is looking forward to “spending time with family/friends, warmer weather, and having a break from school and homework.” Her ultimate spring break would be somewhere tropical with a nice beach.
Courtney Groholski also has spring break plans to go to Florida, where she is going to theme parks and hanging out with friends. Her ultimate spring break would be going on a tropical trip for two weeks.
If Spring Break is the time to hang out with family and friends and go somewhere warm and tropical, then a lot of these juniors are doing it up right! Topping the list is a trip to somewhere warm and tropical or what is known as a “staycation” here at home with family and friends.
