April 29: Wautoma 3, Amherst 1
The Falcons Girls Soccer team traveled south to Wautoma on Tuesday for a match against the Hornets.
They came out with a loss on the tough grass, 3-1. On the bright side Amelia Scheunemann scored her first career goal on an assist from Naomi Bohm!
Their next game is at home on Thursday against the conference leading Assumption Royals and they would love to have you in the bleachers cheering them on!!! Autographs will be available immediately after the game.
April 22: Amherst 1, Adams Friendship 0
The AHS Girls Soccer team hosted Adams Friendship Tuesday afternoon and came away with a well-earned 1-0 victory on a goal by senior Mia Cope in the 76th minute.
The Falcons are now 5-2-1 and sit in second place in conference.
Their next match is Thursday at 6:30 when they travel to Waupaca.
April 17: Berlin 1, Amherst 0
The Amherst Girls Soccer squad dropped a tough one to Berlin last Thursday 1-0.
The girls have a busy week with four games, starting this afternoon at home vs. Melrose/Mendoro at 5:00.
April 15: Amherst 3, Mauston 1
The Girls Soccer team traveled to Mauston Tuesday, April 15, and came away with a 3-1 win, pushing their record to 3-1-1 on the season.
Ava Lansing and Hannah Rekowski registered a goal apiece, while Mia Cope contributed a goal and an assist. Senior Claire Lewallen added two assists.
The Falcons will travel to Berlin on Thursday for a 4:45 game.
April 10: Lourdes/VC 5, Amherst 0
On Thursday, April 10, the Girls Soccer team played a home match against the Lourdes Academy/Valley Christian Knights. Amherst lost 5-0 in a match that was hard fought against a very good opponent.
The girls record on the season is now 2-1-1.
In their next match they will open their conference season at Mauston on Tuesday, April 15 at 6:00 pm.
April 8: Amherst 0, Medford 0
April 4: Amherst 3, Merrill 0
Ava Lansing scored once each half (17′, 49′) and Hannah Rekowski scored once (20′) in a 3-0 win over Merrill on Friday, April 4. Rekowski also earned an assist on Lansing’s first-half goal.
April 1: Amherst 4, New London 2
It might have been freezing on April Fool’s night, but the Falcons were hot in New London, winning 4-2 over the Bulldogs.
Sophomore Naomi Bohm started things off with an unassisted goal at the 12′ mark. A few minutes later, junior Maddy Araco took the assist, setting up senior Mia Cope for the score at 19′. Junior Ava Lansing scored at 38′ to finish the first half.
The Falcons scored once in the second half, thanks to an unassisted goal by senior Claire Lewallen at 74′.
Amherst will travel to Merrill on Friday night.
