Summer break is sneaking up fast. “Senioritis” is kicking in for the class of 2025, and underclassmen are experiencing similar feelings, as well. The excitement of not coming to school is getting a lot of AHS students and staff eager about each of their summer plans.
Freshman Chloe Dudley has very laid-back plans this summer. “I love wakeboarding and hanging out with my friends throughout the summer.”
Sophomore Eli Stubinski is very excited to be out of school for the summer. He will be spending most of his time working on a farm.
“The more exciting part is that I will be spending my free time fishing and hanging out with friends.” Stubinski said.
On the other hand, Junior Nora Lewis is excited to compete in various rodeos through the LBW circuit. She was excited to talk to me about her summer plans because of the LBW Rodeo in Amherst. Each of those athletes would love to see more support from our community.
“Come out to see the hard work these athletes put into their events!” Nora said.
It’s not just students who are ready for school to be done. Mr. Davison has an exciting summer ahead of him. He enjoys working in the school over the summer on IT equipment.
“It’s rewarding to see positive changes made to the school with our equipment,” Davidson said. Luckily he won’t just be working all summer. He is also looking forward to watching his son play sports and, of course, there’s always stuff to work on for the boys basketball, since he is the head coach.
Similar to Mr. Davidson, Ms. Flugar enjoys watching her son play baseball in the summer. “That’s pretty much where I live in the summer” she said.
So if you’re counting the days til May 29, you’re not alone. Many students and even teachers are excited for school to get out. The days are winding down — we’re almost done!
