Tuesday, April 29 at Pine Hills
The Amherst varsity golf team took first again this time at conference meet #2. They now lead the next-closest team by 40 strokes!
The Falcons were led by Eli Zakrzewski with an 81 (2nd place individual). Next was Daniel Eichmann with an 86 (7th place individual), Ben Kisting with an 87 (9th place individual), Ethan Haas with an 89 (11th place individual), and Trent Simonis with a 92 (17th place individual).
Varsity heads to Foxfire tomorrow for another invitational.
Friday, April 25 at Whistling Straits
Through wind, rain, and cold weather, the Falcons beat the field of 12 teams by 9 strokes to take first at Whistling Straits.
Eli Zakrzewski led the team with a score of 82, followed by Trent Simonis with an 86 and Ethan Haas with an 87. Daniel Eichmann’s scorecard blew away in the wind as he struggled a bit playing army golf.
Tuesday, April 22 at Sand Valley
The golf team took second at Sand Valley.
Daniel Eichmann led the way with a personal best 75, and Elijah Zakrzewski broke 80 with a score of 79. Senior Trent Simonis shot an 82 including his first ever eagle, and Ben Kisting and Ethan Haas both finished with a 92.
Next up for the team is our host invitational at Whistling Straits this Friday.
Monday, April 21 at Glen Cairn
The Amherst golf team took the lead in conference with a first-place finish yesterday. The team shot 344, which is the lowest average in more than 10 years.
Trent Simonis led the way with an 83, putting him at third best individual on the day. Daniel Eichmann scored an 86, missed an eagle chip in by 6 inches for a box of Pro-V1s, and placed sixth individually. Ethan Haas was right behind with an 87, scoring four pars and two birdies, placing seventh overall. Ben Kisting was spinning back approach shots like Tiger Woods all day, scoring an 88 and taking tenth overall. Last, but certainly not least was Elijah Zakrzewski with an 89, making six pars in a row and finishing 12th overall.
Next up for the Falcons is Sand Valley on April 22 followed by Whistling Straits on April 25.
Monday, April 14 at Cedar Springs
The Varsity team competed at Cedar Springs in a scramble and best ball tournament.
The trio of Trent Simonis, Eli Zakrzewski, and Daniel Eichmann tied for second place, and the trio of Ben Kisting, Ethan Haas, and Sonny Graham tied for 7th place out of 18 teams.
JV RESULTS
Thursday, April 24 at Maple Hills
JV golf won the Rock Em’ Sock Em’ head-to-head against Wittenberg. Kinzie Martin went backpacking, leading to another win for JV Golf.
Tuesday, April 22 at Golden Sands
JV Golf took the top spot at Golden Sands.
Logan Glodowski scored a 49, Cannen Hodges 54, Milo Graham 57, and Jackson Mocadlo and Mario Giombetti each followed with 58.
