As a new student last year, and meeting classmates that I have never had a conversation with, this assignment has made me step out of my shell and talk to a new person that I found out share similar things in common. His name is Finn Brunette who will also be graduating with the class of 2026. Finn is excited for graduation and going to college.
In June, he turned 17, making him very young for his grade. One thing I found out that we have in common, we both enjoy playing soccer but play very different positions. Finn holds the most important role on the team as goal keeper. He has to have trust in all his teammates but especially his defense as they have to work together. What Finn enjoys most about soccer is the adrenaline; he also likes skiing for the same reason.
This summer, Finn along with his family drove cross country to Oregon (about a 30 hour drive)! His hotel had a rock climbing wall where he enjoyed climbing, fulfilling the adrenaline junkie side of him. He was also able to take in all the views that Oregon had to offer especially at the beach house his family rented having a blast while there and enjoying the views and greenery Oregon has to offer What many people don’t know, Finn and his family collect shirts from every state they have visited.
Finn works in a wood working shop and said he enjoys it most of the time. He was offered the apprenticeship by a teacher here at Amherst and took the opportunity.
After graduation, Finn would like to go to college but is uncertain at this time. He wants to pursue a career in the medical field. In this interview I learned a lot about Finn and his hobbies and future goals; he’s proven to be a well rounded athlete and student.
