Students walked in the footsteps of Jerome Nelson on a visit to the Rising Star Mill in Nelsonville. Kimberly Kopplin of the Portage County Historical Society guided students through the floors or the mill. One highlight for students was the magnificent “tree cookie” that Jay and Deb Gordan saved from demolition and labeled with significant moments in the history of our community.
