You can hear the crowd before you see him- the roars, the cheering, and right in the middle of it all, Freddie Falcon bringing our Amherst school spirit. No one knows who’s behind the mask, but everyone knows what fun is to come when Freddie steals the show.

There’s a lot more to Freddie’s daily life than what we see. More than homecoming week and football games; so I took the time to learn more about why Freddie enjoys being Amherst’s beloved mascot.

Freddie really enjoys singing the school fight song in the shower and of course practicing dance moves for upcoming events. That’s something they thought would be surprising for our students to learn.

They also touched on their game day rituals. “Before every game I do some stretching because I never exactly know what to expect.”

After learning some of these key aspects of Freddie’s experiences at Amherst,  a here’s a touching fact about them. “My favorite memory is continuing to make kids and even adults smile and laugh when I make an appearance.” This is proof right here that Freddie appreciates us just as much as we appreciate them.

Lastly, we all know the hype and school spirit Freddie brings to our school events. Have you ever wondered what hypes Freddie up? “I always spend time with the cheer team and they never fail to get my spirits up,” Freddie said.

Freddie Falcon helps all embrace the pride of Amherst with enthusiasm. As a symbol of school spirit, Freddie Falcon will continue to inspire generations of Amherst students for years to come.
