Is it too early to decorate for Christmas? Christmas is a traditional holiday that happens in December. A lot of people say that it’s way too early to decorate since Halloween hasn’t even passed and neither has Thanksgiving.
“Yes, we are two whole months away,” said sophomore Mady Skibba. “You’re also skipping two holidays. What’s the point? There isn’t even any snow on the ground yet. SAVE IT FOR DECEMBER.”
Mady had some strong feelings about that question. Sophomore Layla Ramon agrees.
“Yes, it’s too early because it’s only in October,” Layla said.
Kaija Borchardt agreed. “We haven’t had Thanksgiving!” she said.
Last but not least, Mrs. Ludeman gave her opinion too.
Yes, it’s too early,” she said. “When you decorate now, it lessens the impact of the actual holiday.”
Is there anyone in the school who thinks it’s time to haul out the holly? I talked to a few people who said that I should talk to our resident holiday expert.
“I love Christmas, but I think today, yes, it’s too early but I start decorating,” said Elementary principal Mrs. Oleson. “But November 1 is just fine!”
So with all of the people that I interviewed, I’ve come to the conclusion that it is way too early to decorate for Christmas, mostly because there are two other holidays that haven’t gone by. Plus it takes away the fun of Christmas if you have two-to-three months of Christmas instead of your traditional 12 days.
