The Amherst Track & Field team qualified a number of athletes for the state meet based on some school-record setting performances at sectionals. The following people qualified to go on to the State Meet in La Crosse set for June 2-3.

 1) Ethan Zilisch, high jump, 6-foot-2

2)  Lia Peterson, 3200

3) The boy’s 4 x 100 relay team of Jake Derezinski, Ethan Zilisch, Westin Allen and Drew Lewallen in a new school record of 43.37 seconds eclipsing the old school record of 43.8 seconds that goes back to 2002.

4) The boy’s 4 x 800 relay team of Cayden Wright, Elliot Podeszwa, Ayden Kazda and Max Voss in a new school record of  8:14.13 seconds beating the old school record of 8:19.4 seconds that dates back to 1994.
