February 8, 2023
The Amherst High School Future Business Leaders of America Club (FBLA) enjoyed many top finishes at the Region 2 regional academic competition held on Sat., Feb. 4 at Owen-Withee High School.
“There are 31 different high schools that we competed against — based on geography and not enrollment) — and the 31 schools brought a total of over 600 students,” said Travis Zellmer, FBLA advisor. “I am proud to say that Amherst advanced 37 students to state! Only Marathon advanced more.”
Amherst had 67 students compete in this regional in various business-related events. These events can consist of a test, presentation, speech, or a production event such as word processing. The top three place winners in each event advance to the state FBLA academic competition to be held April 17 and 18 in Green Bay.
Special thanks go out to Jodi Zblewski, Hunter Warner, Tristan Schelvan, and Carter Zblewski for helping run events for the regional and also chaperoning our students, noted Zellmer.
