How To Train Your Dragon well worth watching again

How to Train Your Dragon (HTTYD) is a Dreamworks animated movie released in 2010 that still plays well today. HTTYD is a movie about a 15 year old boy named Hiccup who desperately wants to fit in with the village of Berk, the island he lives on. In this movie, Berk is described as “A land of kill or be killed.”

As Hiccup states at the beginning of the movie, “The only problems are the pests. You see, most places have mice or mosquitos. We have… Dragons.” In the movie, there are many different types of dragons presented. The main types include the gronkle, hideous zippleback, deadly nadder, and monstrous nightmare. The rarest being the night fury. The night fury is described as “The unholy offspring of lightning and death itself.”

Hiccup obtained a secret night fury as a pet. He would sneak off after dragon training to learn about him. He later named the night fury Toothless after finding out he had retractable teeth. Once his father, Stoick the Vast, finds out, he is furious. Stoick then uses Toothless to find the dragon nest. Hiccup then convinces the other teenagers in his dragon training — Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut — to train dragons. They then fly on their dragons to go save Toothless and defeat the Red Death. The Red Death is the queen of the dragon nest. The movie ends by accepting dragons and living alongside them instead of killing them.

Overall, HTTYD is a very good movie. It scores a 99 percent on rotten tomatoes, which means it has an extremely positive review. The classic music in the movie was written by John Powell, who has created many great songs. The movie was based on a book series, but the directors, Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders, decided to re-write the script, and completely redesign Toothless. It is agreed by many that the re-designed version of Toothless is the best representation. The movie proved so successful, in fact, that they decided to make two more movies in the series.
