Do you remember your favorite Christmas toy? For students, those toys weren’t that long ago. But what about our teachers? What were their favorite Christmas toys?

“I will always remember getting this doll that seemed so fancy,” said Mrs. Ludeman. “I had her for several years. Eventually, I cut all her hair and used the battery case for a piggy bank.”

“My most memorable Christmas gift I received was the Star Wars Millennium Falcon,” said Mr. Dummer. “I was probably about seven years old when I got it, and I still have it to this day. The playset lit up and made four different sounds which was a big deal then. The roof lifted off, revealing spaces for action figures. I love it. ”

“My favorite toy was a Hoppity Hop ride-on bouncy ball,” said Mrs. Baumann. “I was soooo excited to get it! I think I was six or seven — no pun intended!”

“When I was in 4th grade, I got a remote-controlled car,” said Mr. Pickering. “I thought it was the greatest thing ever.  It broke right away, but I was really excited when I got it.”

“I was a huge fan of the Six Million Dollar Man and Evil Knievel and still have a couple of the dolls in my toy collection. Evel Knievel and his cycle are simple by today’s standards, but they are fun to rev up and launch even today,” said Mr. Van Lannen.
