Girls Soccer played a tough away game against a physical Division 2 opponent in Merrill last night. The captains led the team to a 0-0 tie, partly thanks to Amelia Scheunemann’s 14 saves.
May 5 vs Wrightstown: L 7-0
May 12 vs Mauston: L 2-1
The girls played at home vs conference opponent Mauston. The team dominated the game but came up short with a 2-1 loss. The goal was scored by captain Ava Lansing.
May 14 @ Assumption: L 2-0
The team played away against conference opponent assumption and battled all 80 minutes but came up short with a 2-0 loss.
May 15 vs Waupaca: L 6-0
May 18 @ Ripon: L 3-0
May 21 @ Berlin: L 7-0
May 26 vs Ripon: T 1-1
The Falcons hadn’t had a goal since senior Ava Lansing scored against Mauston on May 12, but it was senior captain Hannah Rekowski who broke the streak, scoring in the 77th minute on a penalty kick (earned by senior captain Ava Lansing) to tie the game against Ripon. What a great ending for senior night, and a great performance against a solid second-place conference opponent.
