“My favorite Christmas tradition is my family’s white elephant game that we play on Christmas morning. We each get a gift for a certain amount of money (this year it was $30) and wrap it. Then one by one we unwrap the gifts and show everyone. That’s when the game starts. Multiple sets of dice are passed around and if you roll doubles you get to steal someone else’s present that you want more than what you have. It can actually get pretty exciting.” – Ivy Boelk
“My favorite family Christmas tradition is our holiday baking day. My mom, sister, and I and sometimes a few other people are a part of this day. We start around 8 a.m. and usually go until 4 p.m. or later making 10+ kinds of treats and cookies.” – Taryn Loken
“My favorite christmas tradition is probably going to both of my grandparents houses. I go to my Mom’s side for Christmas Eve, and my Dad’s side for Christmas Day. I enjoy being with all of my family and catching up with everyone, since I don’t see my Mom’s side much.” – Jesse Blenker
“My favorite thing to do this Christmas is doing secret Santa with my siblings. Our budget is usually 20$.” – Jaz Antonitsas
“Every year I go down to Milwaukee for Christmas to celebrate with my grandparents. All the kids go out to look at lights while the parents move the gifts under the tree and then when we come back we open presents. We also have a family dinner the next day with like 50 people from our family and it’s all like a tradition to me.” – Liam Conner
“A Christmas tradition in my house is we like to bake cookies every year and eat them on Christmas Eve with my family. Every year we also make mashed potatoes and gravy with either chicken or turkey and green bean casserole, my personal favorite.” – Rhiley Dombrowski
“My favorite Christmas tradition that my whole family participates in is Secret Santa. At Thanksgiving, we all draw one name from a bowl and buy a Christmas present for that person. I find this tradition very enjoyable because I love seeing how long my cousins and I can keep the secret of whose name we drew. I also feel that this tradition brings the family closer together because every year you get someone different and have to spend a considerable amount of time finding a present that they will enjoy.” – Sascha Gollon
“We had started a family tradition where my mom, my sisters and I spend a weekend and go Christmas shopping. We start at the Appleton mall and we shop for the smaller gifts and clothes; we then go to Oshkosh to the strip mall to pick up a few more things; after all of that we get back into town and get the “main gifts” or the more expensive gifts. This year we got my three younger siblings tablets and my two sisters phones. I guess going in some way takes the magic out of Christmas because I know all of the gifts that I got, but I love being able to be a part of the magic of Christmas for my siblings.” – Ayriani Hoerter
“My favorite Christmas tradition is when my family and I would play cards. We basically gamble but we all just talk about the funniest things we can. It’s fun when my grandpa gets a little tipsy because he has the funniest stories ever. Along with cards we have the best food of course.” – Caden Jakusz
“Every year the day after christmas; when all the presents have been opened and all the cookies eaten, we take the old Christmas tree and we set it up outside. When the sun sets, we light a match, and light the old christmas tree ablaze. As the tree burns we sing Christmas Carols around it. Sounds a little bit satanic, but it looks cool.” – Gaeric Kealiher
“My favorite Christmas tradition is when my whole family on my dads side goes to my Grandpa’s house every Christmas Eve after church. We always have tons of snacks and we hang out until like 2 in the morning every time.” – Jackson Lutz
“Every year for Christmas on my Mom’s side, all of my aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents visit each other. Every year, it’s at a new house so every four years it’s at my house. Even though some of my family lives pretty far I still enjoy the car ride and staying at my cousin’s house even more.” – Rohen Reichenbach
“My favorite Christmas tradition is when my parents let me and my siblings open one present on Christmas Eve. The present is always a pair of matching Christmas Pajamas, and then we move the couches super close together and watch a Christmas movie together as a family. Then we put my little brother to bed and take a bit to make sure he is fully asleep before we begin to wrap presents, fill stockings, eat cookies and drink milk to put the full Christmas magic into the night.” – Emerie Schelke
“One tradition my family has around Christmas is we open a small gift on Christmas eve. It’s like a little preview to Christmas morning. My sister and I look forward to it every morning.” – Hollie Singer
“For my family tradition my family plays NBA 2k which is a video game like basketball. We all play against each other and it is very fun to see who wins. My family also does not have a big Christmas tree. Instead we get a small tree and decorate it with unique ornaments that dress it very nicely. Usually food is included if the whole family comes over. My brother and I enjoy opening presents.” – Romeo Torgerson
“My favorite Christmas tradition is making Christmas cookies with my mom. We usually have a full day a couple weeks before Christmas where we make cookies. We bake and decorate sugar cookies and then we also make reindeer noses. My mom and I have been doing this for eight years. It has become a staple part of our Christmas ever since we started doing it. We took over this tradition from my grandma when my grandparents started going to Florida for Winter.” – Colby Trzebiatowski
“One Christmas tradition me and my family have is getting a new ornament per person every year. Me and my brothers normally go to a Hobby Lobby or a Walmart and each of us get to pick out an ornament. It is fun to see what I picked for myself in the past and how much what I like has changed.” – Deqlund Waltenberg
“My favorite Christmas tradition is going to my grandparents house. It is great because my grandma and grandpa make a great meal for my whole family. After that we open gifts for a long time and it is just great.” – Antek Zoromski-Linde

I love reading about things like this! Personally, my family has a tradition where we choose one gift to open early. Christmas is always time for that type of random fun!
