Amherst High School dominated the Economics Quiz Bowl Regional Tournament held in Wisconsin Rapids on Wed., Feb. 11.
Amherst brought 24 kids comprising six different teams to the tournament. All six teams won their first-round match and three of the final four teams were from Amherst, according to Jason Pickering, economics teacher and coach.
As a result, the championship contest was an Amherst versus Amherst showdown for the right to go to the state championship in May. Ultimately, the team of Elliot Podeszwa, Otto Anglemyer, Michael Glodowski, and Shaydon Abbott-Beversdorf prevailed and brought the trophy back to Amherst.
