After opening up CWC Large conference play with a big 41-20 win against Colby, the Falcons hit the road in Week Four and travel to take on the Red Raiders of Marathon. Amherst currently sits undefeated at 3-0 with Marathon at 2-1. Both teams have a win in conference play.
Sophomore Ayden Nerdahl kicks off the players to watch for Amherst. Nerdahl ran for 56 yards and twhdowns on 10 attempts in Week Three. Junior Sully Perkins also had another tremendous game, catching the ball three times for 107 yards and a touchdown, as well as running for 90 yards on three attempts. Senior Jack Seeger is a key player to watch on defense, as he had 3 tackles and 2 sacks in the win over Colby.
When it comes to players to watch for the Red Raiders, Quarterback True Thurs makes the list. Thurs went 9-for-17 for 164 yards and 2 interceptions in Marathon’s win against Loyal/Greenwood. Thurs also had the biggest numbers on the ground, as he collected 147 yards and four touchdowns on 24 attempts. Garrett Bracewell also had a big game in week three, gathering 115 yards on five receptions.
