A break is coming. School will be done, and everyone will get to enjoy summer. The weather is starting to get warmer, although there may be some snow or rain in the mix.
But before summer break, students at AHS will get to enjoy Spring Break. Some people might stay home and hangout with friends while others might go somewhere warm. It all depends. But it’s not summer yet, but at least Spring Break gives you a week that you don’t have to worry about school.
Freshman Amaya Carpenter is looking forward to the break. What are her plans?
“Having a sleepover with friends,” Amaya said. “It seems fun to hangout with friends and have a sleepover with them.” She also said she is looking forward to being as lazy as she wants. A nice spring break spent being lazy seems like a dream to Amaya since she can do whatever she wants to do.
Sophomore Layla Roman said she is doing nothing for Spring Break. For Layla, not going anywhere, enjoying doing nothing, finding stuff to do and enjoying the peace and quiet will be great. She also won’t have to worry about school or homework for a week. That seems nice if you enjoy relaxing and not having to worry about packing or planning to go somewhere.
“I’m going to hang out with my dad and tour colleges,” said junior Lauren Kenyon. She hopes to find a college she likes and see some cool cars on the way to the colleges.
For older students, like senior Emma Henke, Spring Break is an opportunity to work. She will be earning money while having a few opportunities to hang out with friends or her animals.
For teachers, Spring Break is a chance to travel. Mrs. McGuire said she is going to Sarasota, Florida, to spend spring break with her daughter, Lila, who is a senior. She is looking forward to enjoying her break with hot weather and hopes to avoid getting sunburned. They plan to go to the beach, do some shopping, relax in the nice weather, and get away from the cold temperatures in Wisconsin.
In the end, Spring Break is a great opportunity for people to relax and do nothing, hang out with friends, or go on vacation. Some will even get to work a few extra hours. Everyone is different but it can all be fun. One person, who didn’t want to be named, said Spring Break is a great chance to get a break from a place like a prison but without cells, and you don’t have to worry about homework.
